I'm Back!

Here are some pictures:

This is my typecasting machine this week: My brand-new Corona Folding No. 3!

Sorry about the dirty back. I didn't realize it until after I took the picture.

This is my "Explosion-Proof" Western Electric 520. It still works, and I am considering about using it as the telephone in my bedroom.

This thing is surrounded in cast iron, and is built like a tank!

  1. That is a fine looking Corong 3. I can imagine it takes some getting used to with the different shift. I did not realize they had a 1 and ! I have a Royal Signet that is all upper case and I continuously hit the Z for shift when I need not shift anything.

The explosion proof phone is really neat. I've never seen one like that before. You should connect it and use it unless you no longer have a copper land line.

Turning pens! That is a great hobby. I can't wait to see some of your work. I have a small fountain pen collection and no hand made pens. I may need to add one.

    1. Thanks! When I first started typing on the Corona, I would hit the - key a lot because of being used to right hand shifting.

I think that I will use the phone in the workshop area in my basement. Currently, there is no phone down there. This is the type of phone for the job, as it was made to stand up against dust all the time.

I have 3 fountain pens, 2 Parkers and a Lamy. The Parker IM is my favorite, however the ink converter broke. After a few months, I finally got a new one in Minnesota. I can't seem to find it though...

    1. Thank you! Both needed some fixing up, but in the end, I think turned out really nice.

  4. Cool phone! I have never seen a round one like that before. Very nice. The Corona is also looking very great. Never knew they have an exclamation key!
